Located within the gated, master‑planned community of University Park—situated on the border of Manatee and Sarasota Counties—our neighborhood includes more than 1,200 homes across 32 distinctive enclaves, with property values ranging from $550,000 to $3,000,000.
We are currently seeking an experienced and adaptable Human Resources Director for a contract assignment. Reporting directly to the General Manager, this role will provide strategic and operational human resources leadership for a workforce of approximately 160 employees. The successful candidate will be a hands-on HR professional who can quickly assess organizational needs, establish credibility with employees and management, and effectively support a dynamic hospitality environment.
Position Overview
The Human Resources Director serves as the primary HR resource for management and staff, providing leadership across all areas of human resources, including employee relations, recruitment, onboarding, compliance, benefits administration, training, and workforce planning.
This role partners closely with Club leadership to support organizational goals while ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws. The Human Resources Director will evaluate existing HR processes, recommend improvements, and implement best practices that strengthen employee engagement, operational efficiency, and overall organizational effectiveness.
Qualifications and Skills
Required

Proven experience serving as an HR Director or in a comparable senior HR leadership role.

Strong knowledge of employment law, HR compliance, and employee relations.

Demonstrated ability to quickly assess organizational needs and adapt to new environments.

Experience managing multiple HR functions simultaneously in a fast-paced setting.

Excellent communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills.

Ability to work independently while partnering effectively with executive leadership.

Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.

Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise sound judgment.
Preferred

Experience within the country club, hospitality, resort, club, or service industry environments.

Professional HR certification (SHRM-SCP, SHRM-CP, SPHR, PHR, or equivalent).

Experience supporting a workforce of 100+ employees.
Key Responsibilities

Provide operational HR leadership for approximately 160 employees.

Serve as the primary HR resource for management and staff.

Advise leadership on employee relations, performance management, and workforce planning.

Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations.

Manage employee relations matters, investigations, conflict resolution, and disciplinary actions.

Oversee recruitment, onboarding, retention, and succession planning initiatives.

Implement HR policies, procedures, and best practices.

Administer and support compensation, benefits, leave management, and employee programs.

Partner with department leaders to identify staffing needs and workforce solutions.

Support training and development initiatives that strengthen employee performance and engagement.

Maintain accurate HR records and ensure confidentiality of employee information.

Evaluate HR processes and recommend improvements to increase efficiency and effectiveness.
